The Toyota Land Cruiser is particularly well-suited for camping due to its ample storage space and custom canopy with drawers — making it easy to organize luggage, food, and equipment.

Please note: our camping gear rental is only available with vehicle rentals from Safari Drive Uganda. We do not rent gear separately.

If you’d like a bit of extra comfort on the road, you can also rent a 12V electric fridge for $5 per day. It’s great for keeping your drinks cool and storing perishable food.

However, since road conditions in remote areas can be rough, we can’t always repair or replace fridges in the field. If yours stops working, let us know after your trip — we’ll arrange a refund.

Pro Tip:

Bring a headtorch and a power bank — they’re incredibly useful for night setups and recharging phones while camping in remote areas.

At higher-altitude destinations like Fort Portal, Sipi Falls, and Lake Bunyonyi, temperatures can drop significantly at night. Our sleeping bags are light and ideal for tropical climates, but we recommend packing an extra fleece blanket or warm layer for chilly nights.

4. Secure the rainfly and awning
